1936 Mills Bursting Cherry

This machine is a great example of one that really needed a restoration. The overall exterior condition was pour. The paint was almost gone and the oak cabinet had been partially replaced by someone in the past.

This particular model came in two primary colors, brown or blue from the factory. The customer wanted the blue/yellow combination, which is very popular.
Paint removal is accomplished with a special type of blast media which does not harm the soft aluminum castings. When repainting we use only the highest quality enamel paints which will not chip or fade easily. All castings are polished to a shine. Parts such as the handle are chrome plated, just as they were originally.
Originality is very important to us!

Along with bringing the castings back to vibrant life, we also refinished the oak cabinet. In this case only part of the cabinet was original. Rather than part and pieces of the original cabinet, we simply made a factory correct cabinet out of oak, just like the factory did in the 30's.
Along with the cabinet looking absolutely fantastic, we also use all new correct plated cabinet bolts. Finish the outside off, we applied factory correct Mills decals.
Attention to detail and making sure every aspect of a machine is the way it was when it rolled off the factory line is our primary concern!

From the angel above, you can see just how nasty the cabinet and back door were. All replaced using only factory correct parts. It may also look like the back bonnet was replaced or chrome plated - it's not. That is simply the product of some hard work at the buffing wheel.

So what does the inside look like?
